it is one of my favorites in African Saturniidae ... an very delicate moth.

A very cool species of Saturniid. Very nice specimen! Have seen a few of these here and there being offered for sale but, no luck yet for me getting one as I was outbid twice on the examples I wanted. A dealer whom I know had a nice one like yours which he managed to get from some dealer in Europe but, again he wanted more than a hundred bucks + for it and I just could'nt justify the expense. Some day...

Neocarnegia refers to Carnegia luminosa the first name given of O. luminosum that was transferred after to the genus Orthogonioptilum. In a systematic point of vue Neocarnegia and Carnegia have nothing to do, not being in the same subfamilies. A pure convergence.

It seems that the correct spelling of the genus name is NeoRcarnegia [my capitalisation for emphasis], not Neocarnegia, and also not Neocarnegai. See Naumann (2006) here: www.zobodat.at/pdf/NEVA_27_0197-0200.pdfAdam.
