During my 24/25 May 2018 Lepidoptera Survey Trip to Indiana I encountered this large Fly. There were hundreds of them along the dry creek bed, where ever the sun penetrated through the forest canopy, they could be encountered basking in the sun light.
Can anyone identify this large fly.
