Hi Paul,
Looks like the Arctic fritillary (Boloria chariclea grandis). Common name used to be the Purple Lesser Fritillary (Boloria titania grandis) in older literature. A common sp. across boreal & mountainous regions across Canada. Common here in central NE Sask. from Mid July on into Aug. Nectars in numbers on Goldenrod in my area. Info gleaned from "Butterflies of Sask." by Ronald R. Hooper. The "Butterflies of Canada" book by Layberry, Hall & Lafontaine & the book "Alberta Butterflies" by Bird, Hilchie, Kondla, Pike & Sperling.

Thank you John.
That it is what I thought too, but variation is quite large and with all photos available I’d like someone to confirm.
