New Orleans, Louisiana Size of specimen: 1mm long njlmail@icloud.com Images are here: imgur.com/a/1tNKzyOI am completely stumped as to what is appearing in my home. I am seeing the appearance of very small, rice-like droppings or eggs. These appear along small sections of baseboards. I have been thoroughly vacuuming and sweeping them away, but a day or 2 later, they return. I have not noticed any pests in my home so am stumped as to what this can be. I've never seen any live insect around them. The wood floor and wall where they appear is solid (no burrowing) and the ceiling looks fine as well. I would greatly appreciate the help in identifying what this is! Thank you so much.

They look like small cocoons of parasitic wasps perhaps. I'm guessing that some larger insect colony is living in your walls - and that these are attacking them.

Greetings,
I hope I'm wrong - for your sake - but this looks a lot like termite droppings. A friend in Panama had the same type of dropping and eventually found termites to be the cause.
There are some images online that look exactly the same as those in your images - search "termite droppings" and check images. Then, check the wood carefully around the area you're finding this and see if you can locate a small hole from which this is being voided.
I'll let you decide for yourself if you think this could be the cause, and as I said - I hope that I am wrong...
Cheers! Bandrow

New Orleans has many non-native tropical species of termites established now that do not require soil contact. The cocoons don't look quite right to actually be tiny cocoons - but they look perfect for white poop. j
