Hi all,
It’s been some time I last posted. I have a question regarding Idea malabarica. How rare are these in collections, and have you any? I have only seen one specimen once, and never since and was wondering if there is more information on these.
Google is quite empty with regards to information.
Thanks in advance Ben

Thank you, Jan. I think they are relatively common in nature still, remember seeing them from time to time in Coorg and around Madikeri. I just never happened to see any in any collections, or at tarde shows, etc, and was wondering why. You still see some other Indian leps from time to time on the market (those being old speciment by now, from before 1991), but never any Idea malabarica. This struck me as a bit strange, but hey, probably more papilionidae collectors around than those who look for Idea,
Thanks and regards Ben

Alberto,
Do you always arrange specimens across the drawer in rows, rather than in columns downwards? If so, is there a particular advantage in doing so?
Adam.

Adam, in my collection the space is limited. So the best way to put the sp. is leaving every species free and not partially covered from the other. If they are organized vertically you cannot see completely any specimen, if organized orizontally you can see completely at least half of each specimen. But my be it is not the best. Incidentally I tell You that I'm leaving to Laos, for very few days and not to the places suggested from You. Only around Luang Prabang and Pakse, because I will go with other people and I must accept their suggestions. I hope to meet some butterfly.

Hello, I think the first specimen (1st row - 1st column) is malabarica. Most of the specimens of this old drawer of my collection remain unidentified . Link: Idea Ideopsis DrawerRegards
