Every so often as we attend insect fayres year in year out something very special happens, those of us poor souls who want everything but can afford nothing happen to be in the right place at the right time and get the opportunity to obtain something we had resigned to dreamland, we know that the chances are nil but patience is a virtue so you never know, yesterday for me was one such day.

One exciting find also as I was looking through some papered African material was the discovery of 9 specimens of Aeropetes tulbaghia in fantastic condition, I kept 3 males and 2 females and my friend 2 pairs, pictures to follow when they are set

Bravo, dunc on finding such nice specimens at the fair. That female fournierae is indeed a mighty special item to find at any affordable price. But, sometimes sellers just sit on something too long due to their original price or the wrong buying crowd and they "cave-in" to move it along. That's great for the buyer ! Man, those 2 brittanicus look spot-on as ex-pupa.... very nice ! A great day out indeed.

My retired doctor friend took the male, couldn't afford the pair but I have 2 males, I made him a cheeky offer and he accepted. I've just set 4 of the table mountain beauties Aeropetes tulbhagia, a stunning species

Adam the alexanor is from Tirol. Somehow I think there's an error there, as far as I know P. alexanor doesn't occur in Austria or Italian South Tyrol. Adam.
