The forelegs of lubentina are red, but those of malaccana are white, otherwise they look very similar.

thanks! this is the ebay picture of my specimen .The front legs seem broken off . Never thought the legs would be useful for something

the left foreleg seems present but not red nor white, more greyish.... a ventral view may be helpful and/or with legs develloped.

This may be Euthalia whiteheadi rather than malaccana, since it comes from Vietnam. skandinavisk and africaone are correct, the forelegs are present but very small. Adam.

I also have a Polyura athamas athamas from India in my collection and it doesn't look like the Polyura in this post . Bands are wider, spots aren;t the same, yellow color is paler while this is more greenish

Bands are wider, spots aren;t the same, yellow color is paler while this is more greenish It could be only P.athamas athamas or P.arja arja, P.athamas is more yellowish and P.arja more greenish colour. This is the only difference between these two, other than that they are both variable in terms of spots and bands width. Your photo looks like more yellowish but it could be lighting, the best way to tell them apart is two compare both side to side.

Photo of P.arja (top) and P.athamas (bottom) to compare the shades of yellow/green. If you place yours side by side and you can tell the difference then you have two species.
