Hi Looking for advice. I have a double sided foldable wall hanging glass encased collection of African moths and beetles. They are at least 100 years old and arranged in a pattern, 4 of each specimen. I am moving to Uganda in 2021 and wondering if they will survive the flight. We are flying from UK. It would be a shame if they just all broke up. I think some have lost colour, but the display is still very pretty.

Depends on how you transport it. In carry on luggage it’ll surely work. If it’s in checked-in luggage it’s more difficult.

I tried to use imgur.com, it did not work. It is very possible, that I did something wrong. At the same time, it looks like I am not the only one who has a problem with uploading pics. Anyway, why on Earth we should use imgur.com? I do not feel like subscribing to another ".com". We used to upload the pics directly. Why we can not do this anymore? Sergey

Sergey You do not have to use imgur.com. If you have a problem with Imgur.com, you can just use another website to host pictures. collector-secret.proboards.com/thread/11/attach-picture

This forum is very user friendly. If you want to post pictures, just host it and post it. If you want to navigate around the forum quickly, just use the navigate button. If you need any other technical help, there is a thing here just for that. The only effort that is needed is to pay attention, which is already easy.

done without hosting ... then it is possible to do quickly from a computer and without hosting I find it unfriendly to criticize a forum without doing the miminum to act properly . good days in the future for Google cars that move without drivers and via voice instructions ...

Unfriendly is a relative term anyway. Enjoy Uganda and collecting there. BTW several countries populations generally believe the English, French, and especially Americans etc. are unfriendly. I've not experienced this generally. I've never needed to ask how to upload photos here from my computer and I am somewhat inept with tech. Thanks to those who offered advice. Is the country of Uganda going to expect "donations" to allow the insects in? Paperwork needed?

A lot of attitude for a forum that's free for us to use. I appreciate insectnet for all it does. If you can't figure something out, you're probably doing it wrong, I learned that a long time ago, especially with computers. Think outside the box. Adapt.
