Most of the comments involved childhood summer nights. Certainly sparked memories. So you are correct in that. Folks ended up enjoying the visceral connotation. Art imitating life.....Or is it gilding the lily?

Wow! That's really cool! I thought I was the only person who painted cicadas! But I usually paint cicada shells. Out of all the artwork I do, I'm most well known for them. Sold a lot of them at a county art show one year. I'll need to take some pictures of them.
