Be careful. There is a reason why Peru is a third world country. Its people aren't all the honest types. Ive been ripped of 3 rimes. Twice through ebay. Nor even ebay refunded me. They said i left it too long. Bark those guys, i simply waited, as its supposed to take longer whith permits amd what not.

I have used Juan Josè Ramìrez Hernandez <macrodontia@hotmail.com> for very odd orders of butterflies for many years. Juanjo is often slow, but he has never failed me when it comes to bugs from specific locations or habitats. So I'm guessing he can handle fairly common beetles as well. john

Because you had a bad experience in the past it doesn’t mean all Peruvians are scammers. And there is no more such terms as “third world country”, you are stuck In 20th century.

Paul, not often I disagree with you, but here I must.
Haiti, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Bangladesh, etc. third world ###holes. You can’t call them “developing” because they’re only going backwards.
Peru might be a stretch though.

I agree with you that some of the countries are going backwards. I would use term undeveloped or de-developed rather then “third world countries” which was referring to all countries which were outside communism system and NATO during the Cold War of 20th century.
Merry Christmas to all members Paul

Call it what you like. Its just semantics, really. An honest non Peruvian dealer used to supply me years ago. He had to leave. Why? Some jealous Peruvians smashed up his office and stole his computer, etc. Apparently theft is more convenient than hard work. And that's why countries like Peru go backwards. Look at Chile. Probably the strongest economy in South America till recently. But the have nots just want free stuff and hand outs. Its a third world mentality breeding dishonest people.

You call them Third World Countries, how about third world cesspools.
I have traveled to a couple of real cesspool. Haiti. The country smells like an old fart.
And then there is Ethiopia. Another absolutely delightful cesspool. It made Haiti smell like Channel #5....

I have been to Haiti twice. I was not talking about the inhabitants. The country has the smell of humanity. It is a dirty country. I do not know the current political situation.
I was there to help after the earth quake. There is the smell of humanity and it is a very nauseating smell.
The country is very unkept. I do not believe the inhabitants want to be that way, they do not have a choice.
And by the way. After the earth quake, the USA parked an Aircraft Carrier off shore. It was used as a floating hospital. It became the only source for clean water for the inhabitants of Haiti. While we were in Haiti, we drank only bottled water.
I was in Ethiopia for Leptraps. The country was losing over 40% of it corn crop to pest.
The odor of humanity in Ethiopia would take your breath away.
Do people want to live like that? In Ethiopia and Haiti, the inhabitants do not have a choice.
The stench of humanity is overwhelming. These and many other third world countries are Cesspools of humanity.
The vast majority of us on this site have never been to countries like Haiti or Ethiopia, there are even locations in the USA that look like a third world country. There were some places in Kentucky that had the smell of humanity.
I flew home from Ethiopia via London, England. The first order of business upon arrival at my Hotel in London was to take a shower. My dirty clothes were in a black plastic bag. When I returned home Ms Betty washed my clothes. She could not believe the smell.
The lack of infastructor creates major problems for third world countries.
If you live in North America or Europe, consider yourself truly fortunate.
This is for a comparison. My flatulence would seem like breath of fresh air in Haiti.

How many of you on this site have volunteered to help after a natural disaster. In 2007 Ms Betty and I volunteered to help after a tornado outbreak in Salyersville, Kentucky area of eastern Kentucky. I drove a dump truck, replaced roofs, repaired numerous houses and rebuilt a couple of churches.
One of the first jobs I had was clearing all the trees that were knock down in the Salyersville Cemetery to enable the community to bury their dead.
Ms Betty worked in the Kitchen to feed the inhabitants and those who came to help.
There is no better feeling when someone says "Thank You".
And yes, there is a cesspool or two in many states. Those are created by people who do not care.

This wasnt one bad experience, it was 3 seperate occasions where Peruvians stole my money. One Two Three All from dealing with Peruvians. Funny how all the good beetles ive acquired out of Peru came from an Australian friend and a gentleman from Belgium.

How many of you volunteer your time to help your fellow man. After Ms Betty and I retired, and even before, we volunteered through our Church, our Home Owners Association and several other organizations the we were part of.
We donated clothes to the Salvation Army. We would purchase several hundred dollars of food bulk food from our local Save-A-Lot Grocery Store for the "Amen House" in Georgetown, Kentucky. We rang the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle at Christmas. We delivered Christmas Baskets to those in need and "Shut In's".
I look at Volunteering this way. It is my time, it does not cost me anything but my time. And those you help will never forget you. Especially in a time of crisis.
Volunteer your time to help your fellow man. You will be a different person when you do!
Merry Christmas!
