imgur.com/gallery/fu8tBbLI have seen this type of insect 15 times in my home in the past few days. It is about one inch long. I am unable to identify what species it is and I'd like if someone could help identify it as it has become very annoying. I live in Metro Manila, Philippines, which is in Southeast Asia. I do not usually see a lot of insects in my home so this is definitely odd. I hope someone can identify it so I can start to find the cause of this problem, and how to stop it. Thank you in advance.

I doubt anyone can get the actual species name, but i get the feeling you dont need it identified to species level

Greetings,
Many species of craneflies are attracted to light - this could be why you are repeatedly seeing them. None that I know of are household pests. People often mistake them to be "giant mosquitos" - but they do not have biting mouthparts and cannot cause you any harm.
Cheers! Bandrow
