Hemileuca of the USA

Nice drawer of Hemileuca. H. maia peigleri flies in my area (TX). I have some in my collection, but no spares at the moment. I'll let you know if I catch more. There is an isolated population of peigleri that lives along the southern coastline of TX (as opposed to the hill country where the primary population is). The coastal population is about 300 miles distant from the main population and flies later in the year (around Christmastime). The white area of the wings is almost transparent (moreso than normal peigleri). Other than a couple of scientific fascicles, the coastal population has not been mentioned in the literature. It was at first thought that the coastal population might be a new subspecies, but DNA analysis showed that it's just an isolated population of peigleri.
