You shouldn't name your bugs, once you give name to something you get attached to it, harder to let go...

That's a beautiful silphid right there. Did you raise them from egg or got them already as adults?

Well, my niece named them...except my carrion beetle. I don't know how I came up with that name. lol I used to hate the bug collection sagas she would have. Stinkbugs, junebugs, Japanese beetles, butterflies, moths, crickets, katydids, grasshoppers, caterpillars, you name it we've owned it. Her favorite bug - crane flies. I have no idea why she likes those things so much. I find them creepy and they're nearly impossible to care for, they die within a few hours to a few days in captivity.
Frickius, Thank you! American carrion beetles are a rare find or at least where I live. This one we found on a bug hunt at the park in a wooded trail last year. The katydid and carrion beetle we caught as adults. The darkling beetle was raised from meal worm and cave cricket was found young(about half her size she is today).

I just got a snap shot of her! Not a good image as turning on the light spooked her behind the log cabin. Introducing, Cupcake, the cave cricket!

Nice bugs Bugdoodle, we have some really big camel crickets here on the coast, I see them now and then, startling to see the giant ones, it always seems when I see one, I'm not in collecting mode, the last one I saw was at a job, and there weren't any containers handy.
