Hello everyone, I'm Alex, I live in eastern Europe, Romania, in Constanta county and I've found this bug in my garden, I was wondering if you could help me indetify it. I don't know alot about bugs but even if you could point me in the right direction, like the family or genre, I could do some research on my own. Greetings, Your insect is a leaf beetle in the family Chrysomelidae, and most certainly in the genus Chrysolina. That genus is a big one, and I don't know the Palearctic fauna, but by scanning the website biolib.cz I found a few possible candidates. It looks as if several species have that same color pattern. The website has images of only a fraction of the species, so there could be a lot of similar species not imaged. For a great many species of Chrysomelidae, a specialist is needed to get an accurate ID. ChrysolinaHope this helps! Bandrow |
