I'm in Raleigh, NC. We have tiny winged insects that have been pestering us for about a week now. They seem to be attracted to sugary drinks, like wine. The also congregate on a sliding glass door. We assumed they were fruit flies, but we can't find any kind of food source that's keeping them alive. We've tried mixing red wine with dish soap and that catches a lot of them, but there seems to be no dent in the population. Are these fruit flies? And regardless of the answer, how do we get rid of them? Pictures
Thanks in advance for any help!

There are various fruit fly traps, I've had to use them before when I was raising beetles and giving them fruit to eat. If you don't have fruit lying around, it might be some other scent that is attracting them. It's annoying when they land in your glass. They breed quickly, and it could be something outdoors the larva are feeding on. Just like ants, these guys just appear out of nowhere and zero in on your sweet drinks.
