Hi, I need help with identifying these tiny mite-like bugs in my bathroom.
They are usually found on the surfaces of my bathroom, especially the toilet and sink. I have seen them crawling on my skin, and they cause itchy bites/irritation, which lasts for 4-5 days. They are quite small - about the size of a single dot from a 0.38 pen. They appear black to my naked eye, but seem brown under a light microscope. I have attached a link to pictures under 40x magnification (4x objective lens) after leaving the bug in the freezer for 20 minutes.
Location is near Raleigh, North Carolina.
