Hi, I need help with identifying these tiny mite-like bugs in my bathroom. They are usually found on the surfaces of my bathroom, especially the toilet and sink. I have seen them crawling on my skin, and they cause itchy bites/irritation, which lasts for 4-5 days. They are quite small - about the size of a single dot from a 0.38 pen. They appear black to my naked eye, but seem brown under a light microscope. I have attached a link to pictures under 40x magnification (4x objective lens) after leaving the bug in the freezer for 20 minutes. Location is near Raleigh, North Carolina. Pictures: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fTw7s8gu_kKE_tjb319VWpsIzTRcspK9?usp=sharing I would appreciate any information you could provide on this!

I cannot access the photos despite being signed in on my Google account. I think you need to set the link to 'publicly accessible', or equivalent, as I guess no-one here will be able to see the photos.

The photos are visible now. I think it is probably a mite, as it has 4 pairs of legs, but I guess someone more knowledgeable than me will give their opinion very soon.

Looks like another fowl mite to me, genus Ornithonyssus. They usually originate from birds, but there is also some varieties that can come from mice or even rats. If your bathroom window has birds nearby (or nesting on the window sill) they most likely come from there. We are not a forum of professionals, neither am I. I would advise you to get in touch with a professional exterminator to see what can be done.
