Recently found a few of these in one of my flowerbeds. Assuming something in the wasp family? I've got a young child should I be concerned about them stinging her? Should I be concerned about a nest existing / being built? Any idea what this creature is? My guess was European Paper Wasp but the body / tail doesn't seem a match. photos.app.goo.gl/72e2Ww7fALdKYY6C9

This is Amblyteles armatorius. They don't even have a stinger and they eat moth caterpillars. They are harmless.
Anyway, even with regular wasps I would not recommend to destroy their nests unless they are built on/within houses.
As a kid, I got stung pretty much every summer by European wasps when playing outside. That's life.
