Found these bugs on the ceiling of the second floor of my house, any idea what they are? There were 3 of them all at once on the ceiling so I'm worried this means they may have a nest in the attic/crawlspace. The 2 skinny ones are about the size of a small ant and brownish red. The small fat round one is about half that size and black. Any help would be appreciated! photos.app.goo.gl/6YAzDg7RnfnTiMBo6photos.app.goo.gl/aYkuDodJRA3me1BH9Thank you, Jeremy

The skinny one is a some sort of beetle but your pics are really out of focus, perhaps beetle specialist will tell you what genius or maybe even species.

Sorry about the quality, they were extremely small and my phone kept trying to autofocus as they were walking back and forth on the paper.
Thank you for your reply! Maybe a carpet beetle

Maybe a carpet beetle Not a carpet beetle(s), looks like an unlikely meeting of different species of beetle. They don't look like typical pest beetles. You're right about the blurry pictures. Autofocus can be a problem. Carpet beetles are much smaller. Without clear pictures, given the enormous amount of beetle species, even a specialist would be pressed for id. At least you gave your location...

Darn, well if I come across them again then I'll try to take a better picture and post it here. But if theyre not likely a pest species then i wont worry too much.

I agree it is not a carpet beetle, antennae are not short or clubbed. This is a nice challenge though, I'll keep working it for a while.
