saw this moth the other day, it dive bombed me and had the under wings displayed that had some orange. Can you identify it? It was about 2 inches.

It is a Catocala moth: Catocala ultronia.
Appears early in the season and can be a rather abundant species.
Larvae feed on Purnus: especially Crab Apple. I have found larvae on young crab apple trees in early May in Virginia.
Can be a nuisance in Bait Traps.
