I’m in Florida, taking the trash out and there’s a six legged black/brown bug about 2 inches long or so with a giant “needle” sticking off it’s back end that was another 2 or 3 inches and had a white band near the tip. It doesn’t look like an ichneumon wasp. I have a video/image of it but can’t upload here.

This would be a total guess without a picture, but is it something like a horntail wasp |

Sawflies also look like a formidable wasp.
