I have just found a tiny, white insect on the rim of my cup in my bedroom. It was only a millimeter or so large, and it appeared to have wings that stood up vertically on its back. Its head was brown, and it had what seemed to be two short tails. Unfortunately, I don't have a photograph as the insect didn't survive my less-than-careful inspection. (I'm sorry, bug. 
) Google hasn't helped me identify it. The closest insect I could find was a whitefly, which matches in size and color, but the wings, head, and tiny tails didn't match. I am on the central coast of California. I spent some time outside today on a picnic bench surrounded by some evergreen trees next to the building where I live, so it may have come from there.
