Hello, i recently started spotting these little clear-winged, tan insects flying in my kitchen. We renovated the kitchen last month and had to make a hole in a cabinet where wood is now exposed. I thought it could be related to that, but I’m not sure. I live in South FL. Could these be termites?

It seems to be a flying ant, definitely not a termite. They are male and female reproductive ants (kings and queens) that swarm out of a mature nest during a particular season (may vary depending on species) to meet a mate and found a new nest. They are strongly attracted to light and are small enough to fit through cracks between doors and frames, or mosquito mesh.
It is possible there is a nest in the cabinet you made a hole in, but just as likely they are coming in from outside.
Adam.
PS. You didn't mention where in the world the ant was photographed.
