Greetings, I particularly like the part about predators in clear-cuts turning to butterflies as an "alternative food source" as if the predators never tried eating a butterfly (or caterpillar) before... This screams of an anthropomorphic analogy to being at a Chinese buffet, and the crab legs run out, so the patron grabs a piece of pizza while waiting for more... Cheers! Bandrow OMG I just read this....I needed a laugh this morning! Chuck

How about this with regards to how specimens are captured for mounting ; I quietly, step by step sneak up on the innocent creature sipping nectar on a beautiful flower. Then I raise my net ever so slowly and .,.. the little sucker spots me and flys away while I give chase wildly swinging my net. Briars scratch my arms to mince meat but somehow by the grace of the butterfly gods the winged demon ends up undamaged in my net. In order to prevent damage to my prize I trap it in the net and squeeze its body before dropping it in a jar of poison. Before I mount it I trust a pin into its body and flatten its little wings so it will appeal to you and can be hung in your home in the beautiful sunshine . And thanks to you in 5 years it will fade beyond recognition. Now that will please the bunny huggers!

Works well if you choose the right location. With the right food and temp and clearing, you an have quite an ambush zone. 2. I am a bunny hugger. I have had several guard bunnies over the years (serious attack rabbits. Not kidding! Beat up neighbors cats frequently). I do admit I make a great bunny chili though. 3. As you know - Morphos are not 'Faders.' Non Faders can only -'Silence! I keeel you!' p.s. I'm curious who understood the reference deeply embedded in point #3...
