I apologize. I don't have much to go off of. I live in Milwaukee, WI but I recently traveled to Madison, Indiana (in Jefferson County) where I stayed in a hotel. When I came back to Milwaukee, I found the body of an insect on the floor by the bed after we unpacked. It has ridges and is black in the middle, with the light brown/orange outside. Could this be a bed bug body? or perhaps a ladybug abdomen? or something else? I'm wondering how stressed out I should be that I brought back bedbugs from the hotel. I also have a couple marks on my legs in pairs. I know it's not much, but any info would help! I appreciate your help in advance! imgur.com/twb1i3wimgur.com/abdeyufimgur.com/GMxVHoJ

You're right. That's not much of an insect for id. I don't think it's a bedbug though. The marks on your skin don't look like bites either, they'de be something like a pinprick with maybe some discoloration surrounding it.

I agree, I think you're looking at part of a beetle (or perhaps a stink bug). That size and shape really isn't right for a bed bug. I've only caught a single specimen a couple years ago, but it had a more ellipsoid shaped body and uniform body thickness. You're probably okay.
