Wow, now that is indeed a very stunning butterfly...
I can't say I have seen that species pictured anywhere before.
And you managed to get such a spot on specimen of it !

The male of this species is much different than female and I thought would be interesting to post a photo here to complete the species images. This specimen I collected near Chiang Mai, Thailand. Im still yet to find female.  |

yes, and the orange pattern is variable .I have a few males from Vietnam and one from India

That species is like night and day. That is, the male being the day butterfly and the female the night one.

It's a nice specimen and it's the normal form with no white bands.
Vietnam has so many cool species from Indo-china I've never seen offered before and I've expanded my collection while I see the same old stuff from other dealers. The diversity of species in some areas seems extremely high. Especially Nymphalids...Euthalia, Athyma, Lexias, Cynitia, Helcytra,Chitora...etc... Managed to get about 100 species I could not get otherwise
