I was looking into buying two specific types of tarantulas and did some heavy research on online bug suppliers. BugshippersUSA has the EXACT same descriptions and reviews as Backwaterreptiles.com. They just switched the names in the reviews. When I had first emailed them with questions about the tarantulas and told them I could not order them just yet because I was out of town and wanted to be home when they arrived they kept pushing and insisting that I go ahead and pay right now so they could “hold” the tarantulas for me. Luckily I caught onto this scam before purchasing. I’d avoid this online store at all costs. It’s definitely a scam.

Hi All, That site is like a training tool for anti-scammers!! I found it interesting that they offer "Buterfly" and "beatles" for sale... and "rhinoceros rhino beetles". Nice endorsement from "Marty Stouffer" - I'm wondering where the endorsement from Steve Irwin is? Here's another nice line: "Whether you buy a bugs, Spiders, butterfly, crickets, or pragmatist,..." I guess a "pragmatist" is a kind of mantid? Or can you actually buy yourself a person with good common sense? Isn't that considered trafficking? Cheers! Bandrow

Bandrow The site is amusing, I've looked at before as well. Littered with red flags. In the old days, someone had to accost you in a dark alley to take your money with a knife, now it's from a dark room and a keyboard.

You guys have seen the 3 Bugshippers ads ? Are we just going to assume we all know it's a scam and let it go?
Just asking.
I've got my own issue with a trader right now, and hopefully it's just poor professionalism, I'll let you know later. That's why "goods and services" for all new contacts. I'd be pulling hair otherwise.

Their ads and account have been deleted.

Why would we let it go ? Their ads and account have been deleted. While they have to go,there is a possible value to looking at their data as a training tool for new people to recognize scammers. Might be a good thread (if there isn't one already) on illustrative scam/not scam recognition........

An interesting idea, kind of like "I almost got away with it". The key word being "almost".
I do admire these guys a little for perseverance and ingenuity, if they could spell better, and had more experience with actual entomology, they would be a tricky bunch.
