I found this red and purple caterpillar in the Everglades National Park in mid January in Florida. It was located in a pine tree forest. What could it be?

Looks like it could be Composia fidelissima. The adult is as spectacular as the larva.

Awesome, thank you very much. I remember having seen the imago flying before. They are really great. I have seen them at the coast east of Gainesville,FL. When looking at the range maps on iNaturalist it looks like the pine trail in the Everglades next to Homestead is a hotspot. I only saw a single caterpillar around, but I didn't stay long.
