Does someone have and old archive photo that have been posted on the old site ?
This picture concerned African Graphium of the policenoides/nifrescens/liponesco group
as far as I remember a photo of the female policenoides (nigrescens) was posted by somone that I don't remmeber the name or the alias ...

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the photo, but if anyone has a specimen of Graphium policenoides from which they can spare a leg for DNA analysis it will be very much appreciated.

I just added Graphium to the subject line to attract more readers.
The name nigrescens Eimer, 1889 as applied to this species is a junior homonym of nigrescens Eimer, 1889 (a junior synonym of Eurytides philolaus), which is why the correct name for this species is Graphium policenoides (Holland, 1892).

Yes, this is G. policenoides, note the extra spot immediately below the apex of the discal cell on the hindwing.

Yes, this is G. policenoides, note the extra spot immediately below the apex of the discal cell on the hindwing. Adam. this extraspot exist alos in liponesco but extremely reduced (vestigial), nearly invisible or confused with wings quality |

I found an old specimen in a box I stashed away 20 years ago. Sorry my setting skills weren't that great back then but here it is. I noted in a spreadsheet it's from Gabon .I don't remember who I got it from.  |
