While I'm waiting for the newly described relaxing method to work, and the sun to come out, and my other entomological efforts to do something.. besides what they're doing now, which is probably something, but I can't tell for sure. I'm also waiting for my last purchase, sent by Fed Ex, it went from Bioquip in CA, to Arizona, then Oklahoma, then Missouri, now it's in Ohio, I'm in Oregon, my books seem to be headed for the great unknown. I knew a delivery time of 3 days was too good to be true, but hey now..
What I'm really wondering about now though- What happened to those solicitations for other platforms- "discord servers" I think they were called? Since I'm asking, I found the use of this platform to advertise another similar platform in poor taste.
The 2000 year old bug id was interesting to read, I think it's difficult to recreate the thinking of an ancient artisan, I couldn't tell what the thing looked like, a head on view? Or something else.

What bug is this? I took a photo of it from two meters away, but didn't post the photo. And I'm not going to tell you where it is- if you're a real entomologist, you can identify it anyway.
I keep getting bit in bed. I took photos of the bed sheets, and you can see things that look like bugs, but it's really filth from not having washed the sheets. Is it a bedbug?
I wonder whatever happened to BlueLunatic who was supposed to meet with Bigfeet again in the suburbs of California. Speaking of which, investigators use these things called "Red Flags" that may be indicative of a situation. If you get a lot of "red flags" it's likely you have what you're looking for. When I read "California" it's always Red Flag #1 on the road to "Highly Unlikely To Have A Clue What They Are Talking About."

I'll probably lose some credibility with exoticimports, but when I lived in Humboldt, there was a local called "Bigfoot", it/he, wore rags that would make a caveman blush, and wandered the area between Eureka and Arcata.

I’m not saying Bigfoot doesn’t exist, but I’m sure there isn’t a tribe of them living in five acres between a subdivision and a highway, talking to some loon in Kalifornia. Remember she gave us a satellite photo where they supposedly lived. Uh huh.
I spend a lot of time in unexplored places and I’ve seen things I can’t explain. Prolly part of it is clowns like me, who found a perfectly shaped driftwood this weekend and make awesome three toed, taloned “footprint” in the snow. But there have been other things, and admittedly they are disconcerting.
Then there was the time Mr Tennent told me he’d spent eight weeks on Makira and there were no Polyura Jupiter, at which time I threw a fresh specimen on the table.
Never say never. But be careful with “California”

I was referring to having lived in Calif., however, at the risk of another bigfoot thread- My parents for some reason both(when Dad was still with us) liked watching the bigfoot hunters on tv, maybe for comic relief, because both my parents spent a lot of time in the woods, in uncivilized areas, and never ran across any evidence of any unknown creatures, and would say so, even while watching the programs.

Well, I've seen- and held- "unknown creatures" and I don't think I'm nutty.
No offense to the intelligent from CA- it's simply a Red Flag because there's a high proportion of nuts there.
BTW I stayed in Wayne Manor. It was pretty cool. But it burned to the ground.

Wayne manor? Stately Wayne manor, like in Batman '66?
I have friends still in Humboldt, and I liked it when I lived there, but there was and still is the expression- "only in Humboldt" We called them 51/50, the nutty ones..

Yes, I stayed in Wayne Manor, as in Batman. My entomologist friend was house sitting (apparently a common CA situation where people have enough money to buy a huge home they never visit) when the place lit on fire (not his fault). And shortly thereafter, the iconic Bat house burned to the ground.

Big Foot and Blue Moth. That was a very entertaining thread that ran for a couple of months. It has been a couple of years since we have heard anything from Blue Moth?
