Hey guys, I've been having a strange (centipede looking?) bug appear from time to time in my home. It only appears in the dark, and usually comes out of crevices. It seems to be harmless and only appears once every other week or so. Also, if this helps, I live in Michigan next to a lake. Here is a picture: imgur.com/LKDIYsMCan anyone identify it? Thanks in advance! -Mo

Thanks for the prompt response. Any idea on how to get rid of them? I've been trying to seal most crevices in my apartment, and I recently sanitized and sprayed most of the surfaces near my windows with Ortho insect killer/barrier. Not sure what else to do.

If I remember correctly, they need moisture to survive. So eliminating any damp areas would probably help. Best of luck

Best of luck Maybe, I used to see them all the time roofing, when removing old and dry cedar shingles, the other guys would call them "shake bugs" in reference to the material-cedar shake. Organic matter is what they're after, a lot like a roach I suppose. Maybe some sticky traps would catch them.
