Well,I think that something is wrong with this gynandromorph... 1. The abdomen looks totally of a male..Papilionidae claspers on the end of the abdomen from both sides....not possible for natural bilateral gynandromorphs.. 2.Also,if you see the specimen spread on the one of the photos...at least the forewings seems that are glued on the thorax... So, a constructed, fake gynandromorph...,with glued male/female wings on a male's body..(?) Thanos Btw: It is Troides rhadamantus rhadamantus. The body and the right wings are taken from male specimen(s)..and the left wings from female specimen(s)...and glued these together...create a 'super rare bilateral gynandromorph of 1200 usd...' omg..

Hmmm I tend to agree with Thanos on the pictorial evidence... The photo of the spread specimen looks very suss when copied and enlarged... It does look as if the right forewing is attached in a very peculiar fashion... For me, the jury is still out!!!

...yet the vendor has a feedback score of 87 at 100%... Would he risk all that to defraud ??

just had a quick look at this and it appears that the photo's of the underside show the male side on the left / female on the right, yet the set specimen (top side) shows vice versa or is it just my tired eyes from driving all day ??

I agree with Rich, the sides have been reversed on the spread photo but that can happen when copying with dodgy software. That abdomen is well suspect having claspers on both sides! I would not buy this. Dave

'I agree with Rich, the sides have been reversed on the spread photo but that can happen when copying with dodgy software.' - Yes,I agree.
And they are keeping on bidding..they compete with each other in lack of knowledge and observation.

Just goes to show there is 'one born every minute' as we say here.

Do reattached (or just "attached") wings on butterflies typically look so obvious? I've reattached wings on a few specimens and you can hardly tell unless you know before hand that they've been fixed. Additionally, I'd also like to add that, since the creation of the internet there is one born at least every second.
