Hi All, I was wondering what the best cages were in everyone's opinions for rearing American Ladies, Vanessa virginiensis. I want to raise them on potted plants but I am curious if there is a specific cage that anyone prefers? Thanks!

Personally, I'd go for black netting as it's much easier to see through than white.

Thanks! I was planning on going with amazon, but I was wondering if there was any other places that had a wide variety.

I looked at the link, the cages are nice, but I think there are other options that might work better. There are pop up cylinder cages with openings at the bottom, and a top opening, I bought mine from Carolina Biological, also ZooMed(reptarium) makes some nice cages that have openings from below as well. As soon as you open a cage from the top- as well as the side, you run a big risk of the animals escaping.
In any event, the larger cage you can provide, the better.
Black mesh is easier to see through.
