Dried bugs are now a hot item as feeders for birds including chickens and lizards.
Leroy; ever sell leftover trap bugs ? at the feed and pet stores they are not cheap.
Best;

Our cat loves to sit and watch the local cardinal come and rip apart left over moths and stuff. Nothing likes to eat the fishflies.
I imagine that whatever is used in kill traps may not be good for pets.

Chuck, your mention of a cat reminded me of the summer I spent in Indiana. My girlfriend just had to bring home a kitten, I had to compete with that critter- and I like cats, but not when they bite my feet, or eat everything that flew in if I wasn't right there watching, and trying to keep it from biting my feet...I don't know how many times I'd pour a beer on that cat. Then there were the skunks that ran of with the plastic net around my UV tube. I did have some great collecting moments there as it was, much different than Oregon.

I have been ask this question a dozen times or more. When I use Light Traps, I have at least a dozen or more individuals who have ask for the left overs from my traps, including some of my loadist critics on Insectnet..
Currently I give the dregs from my traps to just three individuals. Only one is on Insectnet. I have removed all of my critics from my list.
I will be heading west shortly. All of the dregs and left over insects from my traps are spoken for.
And lastly, I will be moving back to Florida later this year. Hopefully to the Gainesville or Lake Worth area's of Florida.

I have a large platform in a huge Black Locust tree in my back yard. I dump all the left overs from my Light Traps onto the platform. Between the Birds, Ground Squirrels and Vespidea there is little left by sun down.
