Greetings all, hope everything is well. I wanted to ask if there are any good places to blacklight with a 175 watt MV light in Los Angeles County, Orange, or even San Diego County. I will be going sometime around late June. Thank you.

I've been thinking crystal lake campground area in Angeles national forest. Not from Cali tho. Let me know your results wherever you go, I'll be out there mid july.

There is a collector named Dave Wikle who lives in the Pasadena area. He is friends with Clark Thompson, former owner of this website. The two of them have collected the SoCal area extensively. Maybe someone in the forum can provide you with current contact info for one (or both) of them.

As an aside, I recommend joining Lepidopterists Society. With membership comes a directory, including contact info, for members worldwide.

Not a moth-er, but I might suggest Barton Flats (6100') or Wildhorse Meadow (8500') in the high San Bernardino Mtns.

josephmoths, I have a couple of old email addresses for Clark Thompson, but they might not work anymore. The administrators of this website might have his current email. No luck on Dave Wikle, but Clark would have his email if you can contact him. I also found an email address for Dr. Paul Tuskes, author of the book Wild Silkmoths of North America. I'll send you a PM with the emails.
