This bug was crawling on my leg after staying in a gross hotel and washing everything / receiving some bites. I thought everything was dealt with but I found this today and was wondering if it was a flea or a bed bug. This is in New Orleans. ibb.co/RNCzWF9ibb.co/HHDNGwHibb.co/y8HgYFDibb.co/Rvg7m0T

Looks like a beetle, surely harmless.

I agree, it's definitely a beetle and wouldn't bite you.

Judging from its hooked antennae and shortened rostrum, it is probably a kind of weevil belonging to a subfamily Entiminae in the family Curculionoidea. But I'm not one hundred per cent sure. Anyone?

Yes, definitely a short-nosed weevil beetle of the subfamily Entiminae, and completely harmless.

Anyone? Greetings, I totally agree - definitely a weevil (Curculionidae) and almost certainly a species in the Entiminae. Beyond that, ID is tough as the group is very large with many very similar species. But all are totally harmless to humans and many are attracted to lights and find themselves indoors by accident... Cheers! Bandrow
