Thanks again There's probably no need to call an exterminator yet, unless you start seeing a lot of them. I had some carpenter ants show up in my house a couple of years ago, and then, they just disappeared after a few weeks.

Unless they can find a reliable food source in or around your house, they won't stay for very long. Unlike termites, carpenter ants don't actually eat wood. They will create hollows in wood in which to live (especially old, rotten wood), but they can't eat it.
