Hey guys. Saw these butterfly-looking insects in my mom's mulberry tree in Istanbul, Turkey. They don't seem to respond to movement alone. When I touch them or shake the branch, they fly away and out for a second or two and then head right back into the tree. They seem to just stand still with almost no movement. There's some damage on younger leaves but hardly noticable. What are they and should she be concerned? Many thanks. ibb.co/QNWyGBSibb.co/dGDnGw7

It's not native to Turkey - it's an accidentally introduced species from Asia.

Thanks. I'm gonna have to come up with a more practical local name. Thinking about calling it "Shogun Bug".

If I were in Istanbul, I’d not worry about insects. I’d start the morning with dogas chai and olives and feta, the lunch of doner at some mutfak, and end the day stuffing my face with ekmek, red peppers, more olives, and kebab. If I lived in Istanbul I’d weigh 200 kilos, and I’d be happy about it.
