Hello,
I have been living in the same apartment for 12.5 years... but during the last 2 months or so, my building has become infested with an onslaught of bugs... including bedbugs, carpet beetles, book lice, and others. It is a 24-unit building and only 1 other resident beside myself has escrowed their rent. I am moving into a house in a few weeks and I don't want to take anything with me. I have the problem contained in my unit, I caulked all the trim outside my apartment in the hallways, bought some commercial insecticide, and have been regularly spraying it (Zenprox EC with an IGR (Gentrol) ). I then taped up and then sealed every HVAC vent as well as the cold air return. I purchased a portable a/c unit for humidity control and to cool the apartment.
I live on the 3rd floor and right above my unit is the attic. I suspected bugs were coming through the HVAC vents in the ceiling so I bought 1qt storage tubs, filled the bottoms with vinegar, and hung them using picture wire under each vent. My suspicions were correct... I captured a nightmarish amount of insects and some of which I have no idea what they are.
I feel things crawling on me and under my clothing and up until 2 months ago I have NEVER felt that before. I am not crazy but I am at an absolute stand still! I bought a cheap digital microscope that you can take pictures with while it's connected to your computer. I know some of the insects are book lice... and one of the storage tubs had over a dozen in it... but I am not sure of the others. I have uploaded them to my Microsoft Onedrive account and I am hoping someone can help identify?
The bad bad news is that at one of my contracting jobs, I think I took them (the crawling things) to it... and they're in the server room. I'm not %100 sure the crawling things are the book lice things, but I don't know how to capture one when it is crawling on me to find out. If I slap the spot, or wipe the spot with my hand or fingers, there is never anything there... but i KNOW there is something crawling.
1drv.ms/u/s!Aj_7lNN0OQUdgdIBUh0jSKF33J3I9g?e=WFLS4O it looks weird but it is a Microsoft Onedrive link.
thank you to anyone who can help!
