This is a female Tigerbody dragonfly, Chlorogomphus caloptera from North Vietnam, the wings act like stained glass windows and make beautiful coloured shadows over roads and rivers as the sunlight passes through the insect's wings as it flies overhead. Wingspan 125mm. The hindwings are unusually broad, the related Chlorogomphus papilio has the greatest wing area of any living dragonfly The males of this (and most other species of the same genus) have plain hyaline (transparent) wings. The name "tigerbody" refers to the males that often have black bodies with bright yellow concentric rings all the way down the body. imgur.com/gallery/QqSH2hpJohnny
