Hi Peter, I brought specimens from the farm over a number of years. I only had one instance when one of my order never arrived, but that was no problem because payment was always made when you received your order. This "HONOUR" system worked very well. Payment was always made by bankers draft and in US dollars. Their price list was in Kina because of the large fluctuations in the US dollar against the Kina. At the time I was buying specimens one Kina equaled between $1.40 to $1.50. I still have many all the Onithoptera specimens that I obtained from the farm to this day. Including many forms of priamus poseidon. Probably unobtainable to day. Such a great shame the farm was closed down. This industry was extremely important to a developing country like PNG as a high value-low volume/weight crop. Bringing a much needed income to the people of rural areas of the country. What harm could it make to establish a new outlet for the wonderful fauna the Island of PNG has to offer. Breeding butterflies and moths must be seen as a far better way to make a living and leaving the rainforest intact, rather than cutting it down for timber and vast cocoa, coffee and oil palm plantations. One lives in hope! Richard Attachments:

Yes indeed Peter, They were the days. I can remember going down to St Mary's West Sussex on a number of occasions. I bumped into Paul smart twice and I can only go along with your description of him. In fact at one point he was certainly looking down his nose at me. I digress I was lucky to purchase some very good specimen of Onithoptera just before they closed down in 1983. Subsequently I also attended the sale at Sotheby's of Pulborough. There again I bid and won some very good specimens. The prices for some of the material sold was quite astronomical. It was probably one of the last great sales of world lepidoptera held in England. Here are a couple of photos from the sale catalogue. Enjoy, Richard Attachments:

Hi Jacques, I must go along with agriaslover. For me to they are the freshest quadratus I have seen. A fantastic, outstanding and very rare addition to any parides collection. ;D Congratulations in having obtained them.

Hi "agriaslover" I can remember holding a male golden euphorion specimen in my hand in 1996 it was priced at £2000 I can only imagine what it must be worth now. To have one would be an achievement. To have two pairs, words fail me. Richard
