Andrew Timchenko from Russia posted a thread about teh terrible experience he had with me on EBay. In 20199, Andrew Timchenko from MOSCOW, purchased on EBay the following specimens from me: 163955016905 SATYRIDAE Oeneis alberta daura Male USA $11.50 163955027647 PIERIDAE Colias nastes streckeri Male Canada N Alberta Willmore Wilderness $7.50 163955099922 NYMPHALIDAE Phyciodes pulchella tutchone Female Canada Yukon St.Elias Mts. RARE $2.00 163955094059 PAPILIONIDAE Allancastria caucasica Male Caucasus Awadhara Mts. RARE $5.50 163955042409 SATYRIDAE Oeneis chryxus altacordillera Male Canada Coast Mts. 2400m asl RARE $6.50 163955158296 SATYRIDAE Oeneis macounii Male Canada N Alberta N Rocky Mts. Willmore Wilderness $10.00
Items were shipped and he got them all right EXCEPT for Oeneis macounii, specimen, which till today I don't know where it is and this was THE ONLY specimen, which I did not ship in my carreer of selling insects. I apologized to timchenko and let him know, that I have ONE MORE male but A1, whereas he purchase A- male on EBay. O asked timchenko to consider paying some 17US$ for the A1Male, he was not happy with my offer. I offered him to deduct 10$ from his FUTURE ORDER and I did so, during his NEXT order, deducting 10$ from the shipping! He knew I am not sending the A1male of Oeneis macounii to him, because I TOLD HIM, I will not send him the male for 10$ and on top I told him, I would not deduct additional 10$ from shipping. So, he knew I am not sending the macounii male as he did not want to spent extra 7$ on the A1specimen and I on the other hand, didn't want to part with one of the TWO A1male I have still in my collection. He knew, I am not sending the specimen and hew knew I am deducting 10$ from the shipping cost, so he was well aware of where we stand, however, this turned out for him to be a TERRIBLE ExPERIENCE and he posted LIES about me and posted threads on insectnet forum.
He later, in December 2019, purchased from me the following: 163996717074 PIERIDAE Tatochila autodice Male Brazil R.G.do Sul RARE $7.00 163996833643 SATYRIDAE Erebia mackinleyensis A1Male Arctic Canada NWT Richardson Mts. RARE $18.75 163996818895 PIERIDAE Colias nastes aliaska Female Canada Yukon Boundary Ranges RARE $7.50 163996692640 PIERIDAE Colias tyche boothii Male Canada N Yukon Blackstone Ranges VERY RARE $10.09 163996850476 NYMPHALIDAE Doxocopa kallina A1Male Brazil R.G.do Sul RARE $10.00 163996631097 NYMPHALIDAE Boloria natazhati Male Canada N British Columbia Stone Mts. RARE $7.50
Items were delivered in perfect condition, yet he call dealing with me TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
In March 2020 he purchased from me and paid 10$ less for shipping due to not sealing a deal with me with the Oeneis macounii, where he didn't want to purchase my A1male for 17US$ by paying only 7$ since he already paid 10$ earlier for A-male, which I did not supply and for what I apologized to him and offered refunding his 10$ or asked him to pay extra 7$ and send him A1male, or deducting 10$ from his next order, whcih I INDEED DID!:
164094001830 LASIOCAMPIDAE Gloveria spp. Male Mexico N Oaxaca SIerra de Juarez 1000m asl $5.00 164094008588 NYMPHALIDAE Diaethria astala asteroide Male Mexico S Oaxaca Sierra Madre de Sur $5.00 164093972672 LASIOCAMPIDAE Caloecia spp. Female Mexico S Oaxaca Sierra Madre del Sur 2100m $5.00 164090523888 SATYRIDAE Erebia youngi Male Canada N Yukon Ogilvie Mts. RARE $5.50 164094000896 LASIOCAMPIDAE Caloecia entima Male Mexico S Oaxaca Sierra Madre del Sur 2100m $5.00
Here is his TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH ME and I will just leave it up to you and ask perhaps your comments on how would you resolve this issue?
Apart from this terrible experience, there were many buyers completely satisfied with their dealings with me and I will comment the ones that were not and perhaps describe the ground based on which they called me thief, profoundly dishonest person etc. Happy reading to all and shame to you, who try to create a monster in their search of one:)

Ebay or PayPal guarantee a refund. This is not a problem and need not be feared. Otherwise it may be worse. In any case, Petr Jakubek is the real name of the person and he really lives at the address (Czech Republic) that a member of this forum sent me. Sure, theres a refund. However, if you wait too long ebay and paypal burry it and you can no longer access ot, so its forgotten about. Happened to me at least 3 x that i can think of. The seller has said. Oh its on the way. Never arrives. Too much time elapses and youve lost out Well, my orders ALWAYS arrived and so I am not the same category of sellers who steal money and don't ship specimens. I offered timchenko full refind of 10$ for not providing the A- male of Oeneis macounii from Canada, he insisted he wanted a male so I offered him my A1male for extra 7$, timchenko did not want to spend the 7$ extra, so I offered him 10$ discount on shipping on his next order and so he did pay 10$ less in March on 2020, when was his last order. ] How do you find this experience buying from me? I remind everyone, not sending the Oeneis macounii male in first place was due to perhaps sending this male to someone else by mistake, and till now I don't know the whereabouts of this A-male. This happened once to me and see how it turned against me immediately. Anyway, I resolved the case with buyer, he got 10$ discount on shipping in March 2020. Still, a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE from me and noone should ever buy from me again:)

Why not if bought with CITES permits ? Without permit, it is a stupid risk... I don’t know anyone that provides the actual permit with specimen. No reason it can’t be done though. (edited, see our rules)I applied for CITES permit for apollos, my specimens had legal origin and were of very old collection date and of known provenance coming out of collections of respected collectors. However, CITES PERMITTING OFFICE won't issue a multishipment permit, so every specimen or even its part, will need individual CITES PERMIT for export or import. Now, they want to know, who purchased the specimen, and how you, the seller, acquired such specimen. yes, THEY need to know everything about us. But we know nothing about THEM...

Jakubek is profoundly dishonest. If you want to be cheated I encourage you to trade with him. Wills Laurie from Wellington, New Zealand, purchased from me (respectively a Canadian company established in 2000) the following insects. in 2007 Eurytides calliste calliste male for 180Euro, Item was delivered to him in absolute good standing. in 2011 male of Papilio multicaudatus grandiosus for 69.99$, Item was delivered to him in absolute good standing. in 2011 Papilio multicaudatus pusillus male for 25Euro, female of the same for 50Euro, Papilio abderus baroni 600Euro. Items were delivered to him in absolute good standing. in 2001 Eurytides epidaus fenochionis male for 29.99$, Papilio torquatus tolus male for 9.99$, Items were delivered to him in absolute good standing. in 2011 Papilio multicaudatus grandiosus male for 59.99$, Item was delivered to him in absolute good standing. in 2011 Papilio pilumnus male for 19.99$, Item were delivered to him in absolute good standing. in 2011 Papilio abderus typical female form 175Euro, Item were delivered to him in absolute good standing. in 2011 Papilio multicaudatus grandiosus female for 495Euro, Item were delivered to him in absolute good standing. last order in 2011 Papilio palamedes leontis male for 35US$. again, item was delivered to him in absolute good standing. ....now, he claimed in 2011, that the female of Papilio multicaudatus grandiosus was a reason for complaints and based on this one single purchase, he is calling me a profoundly dishonest person. I am about to post the image of the female, which was delivered as shown to wills in New Zealand. wills contacted me later, that the female had apparently repair of a "tail" of its hindwings. I need to find out how to upload images for my post and will all show you the female from dorsal and ventral view, the very female which for nearly a decade won't let wills ease up and just let me breathe. Instead, he continuously lies about myself and posts threads calling me profoundly dishonest person. Based on the facts I provided, do you think it is correct and moral from him to continuously at every single occasion spread negativity regarding myself? I will leave it up to you. The ones knowing me and purchasing thousands of dried insects from my research collection know who I am and how I work. Thanks for reading. from now on I will try to comment if any problems arise.

Hi Marcel, in my experience, this guy is a TOTAL NIGHTMARE. Laurie I second this. Almost everything this guys does is either deceptive (Shipping costs and made-up new subspecies) or outright illegal (no permits or papers). john Is it illegal to charge 19$ for shiping of pinned specimens? If so, I will end up in jail:) Is it illegal to name a new ssp. of a butterfly? Based on the extensive understanding of the matter and based on a field work carried in Mexico? If so, I will end up in jail:) I wish to know, who is john? He certainly must have knowledge on everything. So john, why don't you tell you your TRUE name and let us know, how did I hurt your feelings?

Hello, I have recently purchased some butterflies from this seller Peter Jakubek on ebay under the sellers account americaninsects-world but now after almost 2 weeks there is still no confirmation of shipping and its a bit confusing where and who he/she (firsts messages were replied by someone called Nel) is. I thought I was buying in the Czech Republic, but after winning it was listed as being in Helena, MT, United States. Also it was strange for me that I received second change offers for auctions that were overbid. That means it can not be the specimens from the pictures so I asked to send me pictures of the specimens that I should recieve and got these within 24 hours. After that I received an invoice through ebay and a seperate paypal invoice for a few extra butterflies that were offered. I'm just worried now if I will ever receive these. I have 20+ years experience in buying and selling on ebay worldwide and purchased many butterflies from different sellers always without any trouble but now something does not feel right... I just wonder what the latest experiences from other buyers are? I see that he/she is still listing new auctions. I googled around and this is the only forum thread I could find about this seller which is far from positive. The last reply to me on my request for tracking information was that I should not worry, it will be provided after shipping ...whenever that will be. best wishes Marcel

This Peter, who had delivered the puchased butterflies absolutely HASSEL FREE. Who's feelings were hurt this time? No worries to deal with me. I deliver what I sell and I, unlike many sellers, file income tax each year based on the insect sales. I am a professional entomologist, NOT A THIEF. Worry free transactions for thousands packages, but few members, who never bought from me, have feeling I must be a jerk, so better, without a legal ground, these "far from jerks whoevers" warn in in case you'd be interested in getting fair deal and fantastic specimens from me. IT IS TRUE, I sell A1 and A- specimens, but because everyone grades differently, I prefer not to mention in my listings the condition of the specimen offered. The reason is simple and those intelligent ones among us, will deduct why I do so.
I do sell also A- specimens, these are often repaired - nothing illegal in repairing a valuable butterfly and offering it for 1$ on Ebay. Every butterfly is labeled and I pay special attention to provide as much of an accurate data as possible and always ORIGINAL LABELS, unlike many others, who might treat entomology as hobby, MY SPECIMENS OFTEN serve for scientific purpose and OFTEN end up being ALlotypes, Holotypes and Paratypes of newly named taxa,
So here I am, who has any real issues with me, let's bring it up and those who never had issues with be, better stay quiet...

Jakubek is profoundly dishonest. If you want to be cheated I encourage you to trade with him. Kirk Wiliams from Christchurch, New Zealand, is profoundly dishonest... on November 28, 2011, he purchased ONE BUTTERFLY FROM ME. It was a Papilio multicaudatus grandiosus female from Mexico, It had a right hwg's tail repaired and the buyer RECEIVED THE IMAGE of the dorsal and ventral view of the specimen. The specimen arrived absolutely hassle free at his New Zealand address in December of 2011. He claims I am a profoundly dishonest.... Well, I will leave it again up to you to decide (edited, see our rules)tens of thousands of insects sold Worldwide by myself, and I always end up with william's comments on me being profoundly dishonest... (edited, see our rules)And since you already messed around with my image of a reliable seller, note, that because the forum is what it is, where everyone can just say what wants without any legal responsibilities, the REAL collectors, who had purchased from me, will never place a comment on this forum, why should they? To later become targets of these nonsense threads leading nowhere? They prefer to stay anonymous and they prefer to buy from me again and again and again and again and again, some buyers had over 100 orders placed with me benefiting both sides. (edited, see our rules)

Hello Laurie Wills is OK, it was the last Kirk Williams who posted the thread. Laurie is a valued customer, who recommended me to kirk williams from New Zealand, who purchased just one female of Papilio multicaudatus grandiosus from Mexico and who since 2011 calls me a profoundly dishonest person and each post about myself he is commenting me to the way he chose. williams however received images of the female prior to making purchase, where we could see that the right hindwing's tail is repaired. Still fantastic large female, lucky to have such beautiful female. He purchased the photographed female and this was delivered to him hassle free in December of 2011.

Anyone know what happened to Peter Jakubek both his Esperaza web site and email have disappeared. I know he has a large number of unsatisfied customers over the year. Just how large is the count of unsatisfied customers over the years? Could you be more specific please, is it one? two? or perhaps 3? being more specific would help and be most appreciated.

I guess his insect business didn't work due to his lack of professionalism. Only honest sellers can succeed on the long run. I am professional enough to be able to carefully package and deliver every sold specimen to a buyer. In what else do you see professionalism if you consider yourself to be one?

Hello Peter,
Welcome to the forum. It is always good to have the point of view of the seller. I ask you and all members to keep this topic factual and without aggressivity and insults, otherwise it won't be helpful. I hope you will find a solution with all your customers and avoid these issues to reappear.
Let's "calm the emotions" as you said in your first post.

I will let the forum members know, what is the ground for having you call MYSELF names. You've been probably hurt by someone, perhaps you've been abused as a child? Who knows, we don't know who you are, so let us kow, what is your story. Did someone call you a despicable crook and now you just ventilate this hard feeling by claling me the same way? What made you poor boy do this? We are here to hel you, so don't be afraid, we will lick your wounds and heal you together with our forum therapy. You see, we are here for you.

Actually, I have dealt with him a few times, the last time by accident on eBay not realising it was him, and I've never had a problem with him. Sorry Bob Worthy, you purchased from me by accident. I have large collecion of Canadian Colias and so I offered some on Ebay and some of those you purchased. Any issues? Any dissapointments? Will you let us all know? We all are here as a community, should be supporting and backing each other and so me being a new forum member, I'd like to contribute, apart from providing you with quality insects for your collection and studies and delivering the purchases.
