Let us start a lively discussion about our current president, Donald Trump.
Let's hear your opinion/thoughts.
Like Him, hate Him, or love him!!
Do you think he will get re-elected in 2020?
I will wait until later before I comment.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly has he done wrong in the last year? He went out of the Paris agreement, but Michael Bloomberg has jumped in and is paying instead of the government. So, what has he done wrong that didn't get fixed somehow?

I have my personal political opinion about Trump but I won't share it here : I am not American and I am not sure I am well placed to judge Trump, the Republicans or the Democrats...
As an entomologist though, I am very concerned by Trump short term view on environment, I don't have the feeling he is protecting natural habitats, I don't have the feelings he is fighting to remove dangerous Monsanto/Bayer products, I don't have the feeling he will help on climate change and so on. Many chemical products used in the US agriculture or US food industry are BANNED in Europe, not sure it is good for the health of my American friends.
In a word, I'd like Trump administration to be less pro-business and more pro-future. There is no "planet B". There is no "life B". And once a biotope is destroyed, it is forever.

I'm loving the way the PC liberal left wing champagne socialists have a hernia every time they see him, so for that one thing alone thank you Donald, offended by everything but ashamed of nothing they are a cancer and a plague on planet earth.

Everybody wants Trump to save the planet. Let's forget the planet for a while and help our country, the good US of A. Once we have full employment, the Hollywood elite paying their fair share of taxes. Securing our borders and send all the illegal immigrants back to there country of origins, including those DACA youngens.
Let get our trade traffifs to our benefit. For the past 25+ years we have been a nation that did more for all those countries who took our money and then went their own way.
We had administrations that catered to sexual orientation, racial relations, abortion, etc,etc...
What about the average Joe, people like you and me. We pay the bills with our taxes. Nothing for the tax payers, everything for the SLL (Sick, Lame & Lazy).
I have said enough,it is time for my nap!

In regards to why the media hates Trump so much is quite obvious to me. He says whatever he wants about something, and lets the pieces fall wherever they may. They complain about him tweeting his messages all the time. The reason they hate this is because he doesn't use the media to relay his message, so they cannot twist his words around, and edit what they don't want you to hear or know. He does his tweeting to get his message out there directly, and that's is exactly what gets their "panties in a wad!" You hear about it almost on a daily basis. I am actually quite amused by it all because the more they bitch and moan, the more he keeps doing it. He is well aware that all of the Trump bashing, the Mueller investigation (which is a total joke), the Stormy Daniels charade, The View criticism that airs daily, is all just an attempt to oust him from office. He is also well aware that he has many, many millions of supporters out there that would raise holy hell if they tried to do just that!

Everybody wants Trump to save the planet. Let's forget the planet for a while and help our country, the good US of A. That's the short term view that has totally destroyed nature on Earth. We're on Earth to protect our nature, not to destroy and sold it. Compare the nature you enjoyed when you were a child and the one your grand-sons will have... such a shame... only to give more money to some billionaires. And that's what I dislike in Trump speeches : opposing economic growth and nature protection. Europe, China and Japan are building a strong economic sector in new energy, Trump thinks oil, oil, oil. Like coal, the oil industry is not the future. A leader must invest in economic transformations, not in blocking them. By chance, some American companies have more vision.

That's a political answer to my non-political point. I am not saying Obama and Clinton were good in nature protection, I am saying Trump should do much more. The whole USA should modernize its energy mix, decrease their HUGE energy waste, decrease their impact on environment, protect their future, protect their health... Like many large countries (Russia, Australia...), USA are very late in nature protection. They will become better once they have totally ####ed up their nature... it will be very late...

I am not saying Obama and Clinton were good in nature protection, I am saying Trump should do much more. Leaving aside the names... you have 3 people, and one of them should do much more than the other two? Doesn't this sound unfair to you? To me it does. The whole USA should modernize its energy mix Putting in some numbers here. In Europe you have 740 million people on 6 million sqkm. In the US you have 325 for 9sqkm. When we take ((740/6)/(325/9)) we end up with 3.4, the ratio of human impact in Europe compared to the US. When you ask the US to change anything about their country on a national level in the same time than Europe, you are asking them to do 3.4 times more than you are asking Europeans to do. Doesn't this sound unfair to you? To me it does. decrease their HUGE energy waste, decrease their impact on environment That's something we all can do. The US still has a large amount of wilderness in comparison to Europe and they have a lot of very active groups protecting it. Also they have the National Monuments, National Parks, and state parks. They have been protected by numerous presidents and legislature. I really miss the American nature, as we have nothing comparable here in Europe. I close my post with a pic of mine showing Chisos Mountains in Texas. I didn't want to argue about anything, but I think it is good to sometimes putting numbers to things and getting an objective perspective. It gives people the possibility to understand things.

With Trump it is a matter of priorities. Fix and sustain the economy are number one. Get everybody employed, that would make for more take dollars. Fix the trade deficit. And fixing the trade deficit helps employment. And tariffs help protect employment by increasing exports.
I do not see another nation taking the lead and attempting to solve global issues.
Give Trump and company some time.
However, the boy needs to keep his zipper up.
I will say this. Stormy Daniels is old enough to know what she is doing. Unlike Bill Clinton who got a BJ from a 20 year old girl in the White House.
Stormy Daniels has had more peckers stuck in her than a pin cushion. I think most of Congress is envious of Trump and the Ladies that he has thought to have jumped.
Hey, it rhymed!!!

We are more conscious of our environment here in America and invest more than any other country in the world! I have been to your Italy, been all over Europe and been to the middle-east (Army Infantry 1977-1981)... here in California there are electric cars all around me - never mind that they get plugged in to recharge with electricity.... and where do you suppose this electricity comes from? You think our juice here in CA is all hydro and solar? CA is so anti-HC that we even buy our natural gas from Nevada and the Pacific NW just to charge our "electric cars"... but at least we're Green here, right? Give Trump a chance, geez! He's been in for a little over a year and has done so much while having to dodge all the crap flying at him...... IMOP.

Totally agree, he must be doing something right to provoke such a reaction among the well to do, who have had their own way for far too long and ruined civilized Europe for the ordinary man in the street with their "tolerant enlightened views",but only tolerant when you agree with them eh Frau Merkel, long may it continue.

Nordic countries or Germany are better in environmental politics. About Trump and environment: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_policy_of_the_Donald_Trump_administrationI tried to find a non-political source. ;-) I give Trump a chance, I count on him to improve his environmental politics in the next 3 years.
