In 1993 I created the name "Leptraps" and started up a business with that name. At the age of 76, I think it is well past my time to retire.
I designed all of the products that I produce and sell. I have fabricated and sold over 4000 Light Traps, almost 14000 Bait Traps, 6000 Collecting Light Units and an untold number of light bulbs and miscellaneous components and equipment.
Leptraps LLC is "FOR SALE". It can be yours for $125,000. That price includes all of the drawings, the on hand Inventory, all of the tooling and some of the machinery. And I will deliver it to anywhere in the USA. Should you be located in Canada, we will work out delivery.
Should you have an interest in purchasing Leptraps LLC, I will work out a time for you to come to Aurora, Ohio and you can virtually see what you will be purchasing.

I'll say one thing, he has a thick skin, advertising selling a business on the same site that has members off whom he has taken money and given nothing in return, in fact he completely ignores them or makes up the same story promising to make good but never actually doing so,he might as well just laugh in your face.

Yorky, I agree 100% with your comments about L.K. laughing in our collective faces. I want to remind all of you of Koehn's extremely arrogant, self serving attitude toward other Insectnet members, former unhappy customers, & this website. On 24 Nov. 2020 he opened a thread entitled "Leroy C. Koehn, AKA Leptraps" Following are HIS own comments:
"It seems to me that whenever I post on certain topics, I draw some flack/fire/criticism from other members/participants.
Here is a piece of advice from me to all of you who dislike what I post and or what I do. If you do not like what I write and or what I post here on Insectnet. Just "Block" me. Works every time.
I only post about my field activities these days. I no longer post photographs of my collection nor do I discuss my collection as I have been called a "braggart"."
Koehn's following line is particularily galling... (in bold type mine, J. Kozial)...

This guy has said many, many times (lost count!),in the last year, that he was DONE COMPLETELY with Insectnet.com (he has better things to do he says...haha)... only to reappear 1-2 weeks or even a few days/hours later & carries on like nothing is wrong/everything is just peachy!... & now he is advertising ON THIS SITE the sale of his business!!… what nerve!! He has been trying to sell his business for at least 4 years now advertising continuously (& unsuccessfully) at the "News of the Lep. Soc." newsletter. AND, he will never repay me as he despises/loathes me for exposing him as the real thief amongst us.
Leroy if you feel like such an outcast on this site & still won't leave (soooo much self-pity/always the victim/ blames everyone else for problems, etc., etc.!) hopefully the owner of this site will carry through with his promise of barring you forever, as a scammer, come 01 August.

It appears to me that many of you on Insectnet think I am a thief, especially John K.
All of my current issues have been Bait Traps. The problem has been the lack of a skilled seamstress.
Over the course of 35+ years I have had three very skilled stresses. In October of 2020, my then current seamstress past away. I ran adds in newspapers, travelled some great distances to interview qualified candidates. I had a great candidate last fall (2020), but she backed out. In late May of 2021 I finally found a good Seamstress.
I currently owe 27 Bait Traps and 6 Hanging Live Catch Light Traps (With Screen Cylinders). However, I have found a second Seamstress. She is only a part time seamtress. We shall see.
As for the future of Leptraps? It could be sold very soon and moving over seas.
Mr Kozial, you have yet to return the three(3) defective 40 Watt Collecting Light Units that I sent you last year.
I have been in business as Leptraps LLC since 1979.
Mr. Kozial, if you know so much my business, why don't you start your own bussiness and become a competitor??

Leroy,
You have two customers here who have requested refunds. The products were not delivered in a satisfactory and/or timely manner. They have requested refunds, and there is no excuse for not doing so.

I have refunded the two customers who requested refunds. I will also ship them their order free of charge. In other words Leptraps will give them there order at no cost.
There are some on Insectnet who enjoy watching when others fail and loudly toot their horn to let every know.
I have been knocked down more than once in my lifetime. I have always managed to get back up and strive to succeed.
There on some on Insectnet who like to watch others fail. I refuse to be a failure.

What? So just to be 100% clear...you are actually refunding 57 Chevy the $165.80 USD you owe him? PLUS sending him a free bait trap at your own cost?
& you are FINALLY refunding me my $314.95 USD (all details in THIEF thread)... PLUS sending me a free 40 w, 120V black light at your cost?
I, & many others, will believe it when we see it... time is ticking.
I won't even address the other rubbish in your 2 previous posts.

Secondly I currently owe 27 bait traps and 6 hanging live catch light traps, did these people pay up front also therefore you scammed them too? Thirdly you come on here and have the cheek to state you have refunded what you owe knowing full well that you haven't, as I said laughing in their faces. Lastly it's quite plain to see that you are playing a game with these people and loving every minute of it, you don't need a degree in psychology to see it. Then, knowing that you are in the wrong you play the key narcissistic joker card of playing the victim while as guilty as sin and trot out the same "I'll just have to find it in my heart to forgive your wrongs against me being a good Christian soul "
You are only fooling the most ardent on here, the rest of us see right through your charade. It's not a matter of watching you fail, you are quite capable of doing that without any help.
This is NOT how gentleman behave and as entomologists we ought to be first and foremost gentleman and act with honesty and integrity,

I think you missed something I picked up right away Yorky- was it 1993, or 1979? At any rate, I've run a business, and I'm not down with blaming employees for my problems, it's, or was my sole responsibility to satisfy customers, what I did, as a contractor was rarely accept money up front, and only partial payments when there were thousands of dollars in material to pay for, even then, not always, they were my judgment calls depending on the situation. Taking money before you've got a product in hand is a risk, besides other factors, part of my incentive to complete a project was to get the rest of, or all of the of the money- a no brainer, I don't finish, no money. |

Let me spell it out fast.
Leroy is not the same man since he lost his wife of over 50 years. Knowing some of the situation makes me more compassionate. Not dismissive for non-performance of trade, but knowledgeable about why a formerly solid lepidopterist and supplier has had challenges satisfying his colleagues.
Leroy, nobody is out to get you, or wants you to fail; rather, the opposite. If you take obligations, make due. Please refund 58Chevy.
