Not sure if there's malice in the comments of those not involved, but let's try not to forget that there was one, if not both, party wronged in this trading report. I, for one, would hate for it to lead to no one posting in this section for fear of being ridiculed.

Neither of these pupae survived. They had, in fact, died a couple weeks later. I should add that these pupae were a couple weeks old at the time of taking the photos and their prolegs were still soft and appeared somewhat functional still.

Interesting, thanks for the input. I had tried it once with Rothschildia orizaba and Samia cynthia, but they began dying in later instars. Thought it might have been due to growing conditions, in large part.
Thanks, Ryan

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using Ligustrum japonicum as a hostplant for rearing Sphingids/Saturnids, or any other species of Ligustrum outside of ovalifolium and vulgare?
Thanks, Ryan

Here's an update: Katelyn responded to my emails this past Monday and sent the ova, which I received today, fulfilling my order to my satisfaction. Thanks to those who actually helped to get in touch with her and bring this matter to a close.
Let me also add that a person's credibility should not come into question just because they did not wait a subjective period of time beforing raising questions themselves. With seasonal flight times for certain species to consider, one does not always have the luxury of waiting so long to find out that it is already too late in the season for ova to be obtained.
Thanks, Ryan

Thanks Bill. Other than yourself, who has an obvious web presence, I do not keep tabs on who is a well-known dealer and who is not. All I've got to go on is this thread and one transaction with her. I am not a big-time breeder. If someone had sent me money, I would at least let them know of any delays.

Thanks suzuki and thadeos. As seems to be the recurring theme, I will wait and see. Hoping it won't take three or four weeks to resolve, though, which is why I revived this thread.

Bill,
Until I hear from her, or receive what I ordered, my tune will not change. Maybe you missed it, but this is the trading reports section where people can "offer reports from personal experience". What am I doing? Offering a report from a personal experience of mine. You want to accuse me of slandering (which you are obviously trying to do in so many words) then start another thread for it. Otherwise, don't hijack this inquiry.

Hi Bill,
They are all plausible scenarios. However, nowhere in my posts did I mention what kind of a "trader" she was. So if anyone were to google her and have that scenario you described happen, it will not be with my words.
I understand that life happens, but I was told the eggs would be shipped out the 9th and have had no correspondence since then. I am not asking for anyone's sympathy, but please see it from my point-of-view.
Thanks, Ryan

Thanks Clark, patient is the only thing I can be at this point.
Obewan, I do not have an fb account. But if you are connected to her please remind her that she has an outstanding order with me. Its highly questionable when emails go un-answered, especially when almost everyone these days has a smartphone with internet access.
Thanks, Ryan
