wow, there are some beautiful specimens here. i agree with you Claude, gynandromorph mosaics are not that rare considering that quite a few of them end up for sale on ebay over the space of each year. however, specimens that are quite extreme in mosiac pattern are usually the kind of specimens that stay in peoples private collections, hence its nice to see some neat specimens. the most extreme ones i have seen belong to alex, and i was in awe at some of the specimens he had. actually, funny enough that 2nd gynanadromorph pictured use to belong to him. would love to see some other gynandromorphs

John, yet again a amazing array of Papilionidae rarities from your amazing collection. Great to see the fernandi from Yapen ! Thank you for sharing. Do you have Parides quadratus quadratus in your collection? Peter.

Thanks Dunc: parides ascanius is my favorite parides, beautifull! Yours will make a nice addition too your collection! Graphium meeki meeki from Santa Isabel are still tough too get, the ssp. inexpectatum from Bougainville is availiable at times. John

Thanks, Steve: I got my PAIR ascanius way back when I first started collecting, 1990 from Dave De Rosa. The graphium meeki I got from Alberto Fracasso. John

Thanks! Peter: I was offered a pair of q. quadratus AI quality, circa 1920's from a Japanese dealer. I would have loved to get them,BUT the price tag was $20,000US, and that was in 1995!!!!! BUT, again...that price is not outrageous. There are probably, less then 20 known examples. O. alexanfrae AI PAIRS sell for 10K in Japan. Parides aglaope castilhoi would be even more, same for klagesi klagesi, papilio neyi bedoci, p. maroni..... John

superb John as always, what a collection you have, the pair of ascanius will need respreading but at £30 for the pair I cant grumble.
