its sometimes a case of right place, right time, most of us are certainly not millionaires, but over the years we have been around the right places and the right people, sometimes we pick stuff up at insect fairs, we exchange specimens too. I save up yearly to have a good purchase at christmas, I would rather save up and buy something special and the rest of the time do field work, sometimes we have to sacrifice a great deal in order to obtain that rarity we have wanted for so long, very few lucky ones will have unlimited funds to buy what we want, when we want.
Jaume fantastic specimens, I got my first pair of ascanius yesterday but I have to respread them.

Dunc, thanks. I think exactly the same. Even not being millionaire (my case), one can get good butterflies. Having patience, going to some insect shows during the year, having good contacts/friends and finally a little bit of luck, rare species can be gotten without paying ridiculously high sums.
