Even though my favourite Pierid is Phoebis Avellaneda.

How can a favorite Pieridae not be a Delias... ;-)
Hebomoia are impressive guys, I saw some flying in Bali (near Uluwatu in a place indicated by Detani)... they are stunning.

my wants list of exotic species is now very small, but I am still searching for one Cuban pierid at the right price, alas so far with little success.

Dear all, Please enjoy the following articles on the discovery of Hebomoia leucippe detanii. This is one of the most remarkable findings by Japanese butterfly enthusiasts in 80s. those are stunning Dave. I have been trying to source P Avellaneda for some time now at the right price but as yet to no avail.

I suppose P avelleneda is THE holy grail for pierid collectors Dunc..I got a couple from Robert Gooden at W.W.B. about 20 years ago-they were already 20 years old then & were not cheap...attaching a photo Attachments:
