I find it quite sad that people voted all the moderate republicans out. This was my first time voting and my incumbant Erik Paulsen got blow out of the water. He was a moderate old school conservative and was a hard worker. What will happen in the next two years other than investigations and subpenas will be nothing. All I know is get ready for six more years of trump.

People on here, primarily in the Trump camp, seem to forget that it's not just "liberals" who dislike him. A lot of independents, republicans, and libertarians think he is a joke. Now, after the dems took the house, and his hissy fit with France, after he decided to go over there and "Honor" the men who laid their lives in foreign soil so that people can freely express themselves here, decided that he would rather sulk and act like a toddler. His petty actions are enough for me not to believe in the GOP, nor take the prez seriously at all. At this point, all he seems like he is, is a petulant rich child sulking and taking out his frustrations on twitter, with some rather comedic results. Good for a laugh or two at least.

He is a very intelligent man. He did not become a Billionaire with his looks. And look at Melania. That is one fine lady.
You must admit he gets things done. And boy can he piss off the press, the Democraps and a couple of plug ugly democrap females congress women. I get the biggest kick out of him. And do not worry. he will get re-elected in 2020. It will not just be white Christian's and an assorted lot of right wing loonies that will vote for him. Blacks and women will vote for him as well.
But I must admit, he acts like a high school smart ass. You know the kind. I use to be one!

Actions speak louder than words. Trump can be abrasive to say the least but he is willing to stand up for this country. I don't agree with everything he does but what I do agree with is we need to fix this country. Why are we having all the mass shootings? Some say take away the guns and that will solve the problem. It won't. Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

Of course gun control will for sure decrease the number of dead people ! This is scientific data. The USA are the only civilized country with so many dead people due to the easy access to guns ! In Europe, in Canada, in Russia, a depressed or crazy guy who wants to harm other would kill one guy with a knife... in the USA he would kill 50 with an assault rifle, just because he has access to it. But the NRA has totally brainwashed and corrupted a large part of the USA. Well at least, it controls a bit the world human overpopulation... the USA should sell bazookas too. In Russia, in Europe, in Canada, "People kill" as you said, but less often and less victims, thanks to gun control.

"... the USA should sell bazookas too."
I thought they already did, but maybe not on the open market for the average Joe.

Feel free to teach us...
About Trump, there are things that I like : no useless war abroad and good economics measures. And things I don't like : he weakens environmental laws, he prefers Russia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to his democratic allies, he does nothing to stop the gun issue in the US.

In countries where they don't have easy access to firearms people make bombs to commit mass murder. You could use a vehicle at a crowded location to take out a bunch of people. My point was guns are inanimate objects it's the people using them that's the problem. What has changed in American society that's causing these folks to go off the rails and kill people? It's a dangerous world that's getting worse all the time.

Every time there is a mass shooting, especially school shootings, we hear the constant cry from the Left that we need gun control and/or that we should remove guns from our society. Guns are not the problem but the result of a Society without a conscience. With the advent of video games came violent video games. You can play mortal combat where you can take an axe and throw it at your opponent and stick it in his head. Or with a machine gun he can kill hundreds of others in combat or street violence. Our children can plays these games for hours on end.
I grew up in a Christian Home. I went to church every Sunday and even during the week. There were guns in my home, but I “knew” the rules. There is a verse in the Bible that says it all. Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
We are training our children to be violent. If you cannot win an argument at school or someone picks on you, take a gun to school and even the score, just like in the Video Games.
Our society has created a new type of murder, a life is taken without violence, it is called abortions. Approximately 62 million since Roe vs Wade in 1973. And we thought the Nazi’s were bad!
We have changed the culture in our country. It is okay the kill the unborn, but is not okay to execute a murderer.
Need more evidence, just turn on your television or go to a movie, blood guts and the glory of killing.
We need to fix our culture. We took God, Bibles and Prayer out of our schools. And look what we got. If I got a paddling at school and my parents learned about it, I got worse at home. Besides blistering my butt, my father would make me write a thousand times “I will not.......whatever I did. I did a lot of writing. Parents do not do that today, they run and hire a lawyer and sue the school. What message does that deliver to our children?
We do not need gun control, we need responsible parenting. We need to end abortion and to teach our children moral values.
Then we look at our politicians, entertainers and our legal systems.
And finally, Pornography. Talk about destroying the moral fiber of our country. And you wonder why so many people are having sex with children. Again, a good way to end adults from having sex with children, the death penalty. As I have said before, Try em and fry em.
I have said enough.
(Boy will I hear about this!!)

About a year ago I got off work early. I was on the night shift so I arrived home at around 2:30am. I didn't want to call and wake my wife and kid up. I came in through the garage and upon hearing work boot footsteps coming down the hall my wife was up and by the time I rounded the corner into the living room I heard the unmistakable sound of my gun cabinet door closing. A second later I was faced with a scared/pissed off 6 foot woman with a loaded shotgun that at the distance between us would have cut me in half had she pulled the trigger. My life flashed before my eyes and most of it sucked with a good part thrown in here and there. I managed blurt out "its me" and she lowered the gun. I have no doubt if I would have been a actual intruder she would have filled me with lead. Both of us own guns and were taught how to safely use them from a early age. One of the major rules is know for sure what or who you are shooting at. That's why I'm still here and don't feel sorry for anyone who breaks in my house. If I don't get you she will!

[quote author=" mothman27" Although I can't agree with you on the death penalty. And even more than likely, Evangelical. Standby your faith young man, you will sleep better at night and you will also earn the respect of those you come in contact with. And that includes me.

Standby your faith young man, you will sleep better at night and you will also earn the respect of those you come in contact with. And that includes me. True, I am very thankful to be raised (and homeschooled) in a very Christian home along with my siblings. However, I am not Evangelical by denomination but Catholic. Thanks for your comments. I think it is amazing that on this website there is such a spread of beliefs and opinions and we all have a common interest and for the most part people are respectful of others. I really appreciate this forum for many reasons. Tim
