If you are truly regretful about starting this thread then a full retraction/personal online apology to me, of your slandering ways, is in order...
Also where is a full refund of my original $331.05 CAD pd. to you in good faith, via Paypal, on 06 March 2020?? You may consider yourself a super seller of sorts, but still, you do not have a business licence that entitles you to STEAL from this customer. Either 1.) Send me the additional funds to mail the 2 defective lights back to you 2.) After receiving said defective lights.... YOUR CHOICE... either send me yet another working light (so securely packaged so a truck can run over it without causing damage) or refund my money in full... such a simple solution to end this stupid transaction. How can this transaction be successfully concluded if you absolutely refuse to communicate either privately by email or on this forum? Still left shaking my head on this utterly ridiculous situation.

Yes indeed Leroy I have put all of my evidence in plain sight for the world to see... I (& the world) are still waiting as you have yet to even address a single specific issue I brought up with the extreme difficulties of this horrendous transaction...
Anyways... no more wasting my time & energy... since it has been determined by various other neutral member's posts on this thread that the SELLER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL RETURN SHIPPING CHARGES of defective items you owe me $105.63 CAD or $77.45 USD (according to xe.com) to pay for the return shipping charges as outlined to you in a past private email. And... LEROY... just in case you decide to balk, yet again, here are some friendly facts regarding these shipping charges. You originally spent $100.40 USD to ship these 2 defective light units up to me... THEREFORE to summarize & make it absolutely, perfectly clear, you spent $100.40 USD to ship these 2 defective units up to me & I (actually Canada Post) is now charging you $77.45 USD (= $105.63 CAD) to return both units, together, back to you... so the return shipping charges for both units together are $22.95 USD cheaper than you paid to originally have them shipped separately up from the USA.... a bargin. For your money you are getting Xpresspost-USA 4 Business days Guaranteed Service with full Insurance Coverage & Tracking Number which will be gleefully posted online here (for the world to see) as soon as I mail it away. Actual shipping times will, of course, probably be twice what Canada Post states, due to Covid delays, etc., etc. Your USPS one week express shipping took more than twice as long as stated to arrive on both your packages.
To conclude, as soon as I see $105.63 CAD (or $77.45 USD... your choice), deposited in my Paypal acct. I will send it away immediately. If you're on the ball & finally, really serious about ending this mess, you can easily (only takes a few minutes on your computer) have that money deposited today & I can quickly ship the package away tomorrow morning as it is already sitting gathering dust in my local post office with all shipping labels, customs declarations etc. attached ready to go.
As I have already spent a grand total of $376.95 CAD to date on this long, difficult transaction there is NO WAY I am shelling out another $105.63 CAD upfront (then my total spent would be $481.97 CAD!) to ship your return package & then trust that you will honestly pay me back... some day... or maybe never... I wasn't born yesterday & I am no fool... or THIEF... or LIAR. These are very simple, logical & fair business requests that you/anyone should have no problems with...

Leroy tests and ship replacement, and immediately provides tracking.

This is certainly a pleasant surprise & an interesting proposition... the arrangement you proposed would be just fine with me... as it has been 3 hours now since I last posted & I just checked my Paypal acct.... not surprisingly... nothing deposited. L.K. was online on this forum when I posted my last response & he knew & would have read my posting. He is certainly not someone in a big hurry (as I am) to put this mess to rest.
One nagging question Chuck... why in the world would you want to get involved in this God awful mess? This is an extraordinary situation & I would be very happy for the added backup if things should go south again. My trust level of L.K. right now, on a scale of 1-10 is at about -5. The idea of a 3rd neutral party though is a very good one & if you are serious I am all for it... It would certainly keep L.K. honest for once.
Again you don't have to do this Chuck, but it would be much appreciated.
Have to go... will check in later tonight & will keep you posted... I'm a bit excited, for another reason, as at this moment... I suddenly, after a long delay with cold weather, have 9 beautiful, freshly emerged, Hyalophora columbia gloveri moths inside a screened cage in my porch! They are still slowly pumping up their wings & I must keep a vigilant eye on them before they attempt flying & ruin their wings. They are specimens only & not for breeding. Only another 43 to go!

I have never experienced a situation like this in all my years of doing business. I suggest it be deleted AFTER the return and replacement exchange is completed. I have offered, and John accepted, that I will send him the $77 to cover return shipping. John will return the two units. Hopefully Leroy/ Leptraps will quickly test and ship a replacement unit, and provide tracking. If Leroy refunds the $77 to John, John will reimburse me. This should work for everyone right? There is, of course, the risk of damage by the carrier and/ or Canadian Customs. How this is handled, and by whom, should have been clearly documented in the offer for sale. AFAIK it remains an outstanding factor of risk, not of loss, but of common agreement. As I wrote in another thread, if no such terms are specifically identified the default is Ex Works, meaning risk of loss transitions from seller to buyer immediately upon shipment. Not knowing what terms were offered, I can comment no further; perhaps clarification by the seller is in order. Not to get too far off topic, but I find it very difficult to believe LepTraps has never encountered any loss in shipments in all those years. I have- train derailments, $500,000 shipment misplaced by FedEx for six months, certified signature required package handed by the UPS driver to some kids on the street because he was too lazy to drive down the road, etc. Once in a foreign country my colleagues and I had to breach Customs, and threaten them with personal injury to get a shipment released! I wish I'd had such luck throughout my career. Chuck

You are exactly spot on with your last (all your) comments Chuck.. LEROY lit a short fuse on a big bomb that blew up in his face & now he is desperately trying to run & hide without resolution to this simple, but ridiculous problem. Leroy..... YOU were the one who originally brought Leptraps into this public forum in an attempt to ruin my reputation with serious allegations that you have not a shred of evidence to back up!... And now you are continuing to delay bringing this fiasco to a swift conclusion (with Chuck's help). I noticed yesterday that the original allegation of me being a THIEF (by inference as Chuck stated) was conveniently removed & now you want the entire thread deleted (to prevent continuing embarrassment/damage to your business & certainly to your OWN REPUTATION).
This transaction is far from being "finished". Pay the lousy $77.00 USD to get your 2 POS defective collecting lights back, send me another, hopefully, 3rd light (working), or a complete refund, & this travesty will end. Then & only then I, AS THE VICTUM, will have no objections to complete deletion. And... This is my final attempt to resolve this issue, providing Chuck will be the middle man. I will send Chuck a check for $250.00 to pay all shipping cost. Should more than $250.00 be required, I will send the additional money to Chuck.
Send the defective Collecting Light Units to Chuck, there are three Collecting Light Units. Once Chuck has the three Collecting Light Units in hand and cost/expenses to have them shipped to him. Chuck will send me the Collecting Light Units. (All three). I will replace the original Collect Light Unit with a brand new Collecting Light Unit and ship it to Chuck. Along with the brand new Collecting Light Unit, I will send Chuck a check for all of the shipping costs and any other expenses required to resolve this issue.
Chuck will send the new Collecting Light Unit to John Kozial.
This will resolve this issue.
