Adam,
Formaldehyde is a gas at room temperature, Formalin is the name given for a 40% aqueous solution of formaldehyde and is still in use. The modern nomenclature for formaldehyde is methanal but this hasn't caught on in the way that ethanol has for alcohol (or ethyl alcohol).

Spectacular! It would have been nice if they'd included details of the parents.

Yes indeed.
But as several farms are competing in this Agrias hybrid madness, they tend to protect their production secrets. A lot of money at stake...

I've just taken a dozen of these off the boards but I only paid a fraction of the cost of ebay prices, males and females, they are truly magnificent. I would imagine more new hybrids will be coming in the future with further experimentation,

My, you certainly do your trophy hunting in some rather exclusive territory !
My hat's off to you though really because if I had the means (myself); I'd probably desire a small selection of these myself.
Some are certainly very unique (one of a kinds); like that 3rd praeneste/omphale. However, most others are a nice variation on a theme.
It seems that some of the (crosses) result in some having more intense blue than others - as in your first one !
Greens, though often more restricted do offer a nice "highlight" on the ones having that "popping" blue. A few, though do turn out a bit too dark for me.
Thank you kindly for sharing these rather exclusive and yet stunning treasures with us.

A guy was asking for $750 for the praeneste x omphale which is insane.

I managed to resurrect my digital camera, for all of 10 minutes, not great pictures but better than the last one's.
